The secret valley

Whilst visiting Lymm Dam, follow the signposted path – cross the small footbridge and you’ll come to semi-ancient area of woodland – quite dense in parts with various pools, known as “The Bongs”.

This peaceful area is not entirely accessible – this woodland is privately owned and some of it is fenced off. Though there is a path you can follow, it’s often very muddy. But is a haven for wildlife, trees and plants – and well worth seeking out!
