If you are arriving by car, park at the Lymm Dam car park on Crouchley lane. There’s limited spaces but parking is free.

From here you can directly access the well paved walkway around the Dam – and beyond to The Bongs.

The Scenic Trail

The walking trail around Lymm Dam is about a mile long, is mostly well paved and is well sign-posted.

As you embark on this scenic trail, you’ll be greeted by stunning views of the calm waters, woodland areas, and a variety of wildlife.

Marvel at the graceful swans gliding on the surface of the water or catch a glimpse of colourful kingfishers darting across the sky.

Lymm Dam’s beauty is ever-changing throughout the seasons, with vibrant wildflowers in spring, lush green foliage in summer, and a tapestry of golden hues in autumn.

Wishing Well Bridge

Along the trail, you’ll come to a hump-backed stone bridge over a small waterfall, between the small upper and the main dam.

It’s an idylic spot to stope for a while – and make a wish!

Facilities and Amenities

Picnic tables and benches can be found along the trail, providing the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy a packed lunch amid nature’s tranquility.

There’s a small car park (free) on Crouchley Lane, giving you direct access to the trail. There’s a public toilet on Higher Lane (A56) where you’ll also find a coffee / ice cream van.
