Burford Lane to Oughtrington

An half an hour walk across farmland to Lymm High School

This is the perfect post-pub lunch walk which takes you from Burford Lane (near the Jolly Thresher) along farmland to Oughtrington Lane and Lymm High School.

It’s an easy walk, but does involve five styles and farmland which is sometimes grazed by cows and horses.

As you walk down Burford Lane, look out for the public footpath on your left hand side. Follow the path for around 3/4 mile and you’ll come to Oughtrington Lane, with Lymm High School on your right.

Oughtrington Hall Lodge

At the entrance to the school, you’ll see the lodge. This is a very fine-looking, grade 2 listed, single story building which was constructed in the mid 19th Century. It is now a private residence.

From here, you can retrace your steps, or walk up to the main road and take a left back to the pub.
